Profile

David Rooney focuses on understanding the role of wisdom and knowledge in the economy. His central interest is how can knowledge be translated into excellent (and wise) practice. He has published a number of books including Public Policy in Knowledge-Based Economies, the Handbook on the Knowledge Economy (Vols 1 & 2), Knowledge Policy, and Wisdom and Management in the Knowledge Economy. His research on wisdom, knowledge economies and knowledge policy is regarded as having made important, innovative and practical contributions.

David's teaching covers areas like leadership, organisational behaviour, knowledge management, change management, and strategic management. He has more than 15 years of University teaching experience. In the past David has worked at the University of Queensland, Queensland University of Technology and Griffith University.

David has worked with a wide variety of organisations in the private, public and not for profit sectors. He is a regular public speaker, runs professional development seminars and workshops, and provides media commentary.
