Philip Sinnadurai - Research

My principal research interests include the following:

  • The motivations for and economic consequences of corporate accounting and disclosure policies
  • Determinants and economic consequences of earnings quality and earnings management
  • The processes via which financial and non-financial information is incorporated into the capital market
  • Corporate governance

Editorial Board Membership

I am a member of the Editorial Advisory and Review Board of the Journal of Financial Reporting and Accounting.  This is a refereed journal published jointly by the Accounting Research Institute, Faculty of Accountancy, Universiti Teknologi Mara, Malaysia and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

Refereeing

I have been referee for papers submitted to be considered for publication in the following journals:

Research Funding

In March 2009, I was awarded $1,086.75 to employ a Research Assistant to help with routine data collection for my working paper entitled, “Directors’ Recommendation on Takeover Bids and the Management of Earnings: A Re-Examination of Australian Evidence”.  The source of funding is the Research Development Scheme administered by the Faculty of Business and Economics at Macquarie University.
