My principal research interests include the following:
- The motivations for and economic consequences of corporate accounting and disclosure policies
- Determinants and economic consequences of earnings quality and earnings management
- The processes via which financial and non-financial information is incorporated into the capital market
- Corporate governance
Editorial Board Membership
I am a member of the Editorial Advisory and Review Board of the Journal of Financial Reporting and Accounting. This is a refereed journal published jointly by the Accounting Research Institute, Faculty of Accountancy, Universiti Teknologi Mara, Malaysia and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

Research Funding
In March 2009, I was awarded $1,086.75 to employ a Research Assistant to help with routine data collection for my working paper entitled, “Directors’ Recommendation on Takeover Bids and the Management of Earnings: A Re-Examination of Australian Evidence”. The source of funding is the Research Development Scheme administered by the Faculty of Business and Economics at Macquarie University.
