Prepare to Graduate
How do I prepare to graduate?
If you expect to complete your degree in the coming semester, check your Expected Completion record in eStudent. If it is incorrect or blank, you need to submit an 'I Expect to Complete' form online via ask.mq.edu.au. You need to submit this by:
- 1 April for Semester 1 completion
- 1 September for Semester 2 completion
- Immediately for Vacation School & Session 3 completions
'I Expect to Complete' submission is available under the heading 'Graduation' on the left side of the page once you log in using OneID.
If you have qualified, several days after the final results have been released for that study period you will see the message in eStudent 'Congratulations you have now qualified' and be able to view your specific individual graduation ceremony details.
Graduation Information packs, including your 'Conferring of Degree' form, will be emailed to qualified students via their student email address. If you want to attend your degree ceremony you must return this form by the deadline indicated. Any change of name, degree or ceremony allocation, or request to defer must also be submitted by the deadline, accompanied by appropriate documentary evidence.
For more information, visit the Graduation@Macquarie site.
At the end of your last semester, make sure your name and preferred mailing address details are correct on eStudent so that the University can contact you about graduation. This is particularly important for students returning home who would like their degree documentation sent to them.
