Position Description

The FBE Leaning and Teaching unit is currently working on a project to test the Learning Management System (LMS) D2L Brightspace. D2L Brightspace provides a high-quality, professional appearance, has agile architecture and is cloud-based. The project aims to determine the feasibility of Brightspace and test features such as ePortfolio, Group work, Peer review, Learning Analytics, User interface, usability and graphical design quality and then compare the findings with our current LMS. This role will ideally suit a student studying Business Administration. Reporting to the L&T Design & Innovation Team, you will:

  • Assist in D2L testing and feasibility evaluation
  • Provide support with project planning and management
  • Contribute to project evaluation and reporting and ensure it meets the MQ standards

The successful student will:

  • Be able to enrol in FOBE200 or FOBE300 in Session 1, 2017
  • Be in their penultimate or final year of a Business Administration or relevant degree
  • Have well developed project management skills
  • Be detail focused and have good research, analytical and data interpretation skills
  • Have intermediate skills in Word and Excel
  • Have good written and verbal communication skills and be able to write reports
  • Be well organised and have excellent time management skills

The placement will be based on campus and will be offered 1 - 2 days per week over the course of Session 1, 2017. The successful candidate will be required to negotiate their working day and hours with your supervisor upon commencement and must complete 100 working hours.


Please note that this is an unpaid placement, however, it will provide valuable work experience. The successful student must enrol in FOBE200 or FOBE300 in Session 1, 2017 and must be able to fit this unit as an elective in their program. See the Student Handbook for details on this unit. The unit will give you academic credit for the placement.
