FBE Learning & Teaching l Business Administration - Program Evaluation Internship l 1 Position

Learning and Teaching (L&T) activities in the Faculty of Business and Economics aim to provide a connected learning community through the provision of creative and innovative learning experiences, improving graduate capabilities and fostering a culture that supports excellence.

Position Description

Be Successful is an initiative within the Faculty of Business and Economics that encompasses the many Learning & Teaching Programs available to help students ‘Be Successful’ throughout their studies at Macquarie. These programs include:

  • First-Step Mentoring
  • PAL
  • Lucy Mentoring
  • PACE
  • Kick Start
  • Unit Rep Program
  • English Speaking Club
  • Student Success

We are currently evaluating the effectiveness of the communication used by the various programs in the Faculty and aim to make necessary changes to improve visibility amongst student cohorts. This role would suit a final year Business Administration or marketing and communications student with an interest in program evaluation and a flair for writing. Reporting to the L&T Design & Innovation Team, you will:

  • Evaluate current communication used in programs
  • Contribute to development of a research report
  • Make necessary changes to communication to improve visibility

The successful student will:

  • Be able to enrol in FOBE200 or FOBE300 in Session 1, 2017
  • Be in their penultimate or final year of a Business Administration, Marketing or Communications degree
  • Have a good understanding of evaluative techniques
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Be well organised and have excellent time management skills
  • Be able to work independently and under supervision

The placement will be based on campus and will be offered 1 - 2 days per week over the course of Session 1, 2017. The successful candidate will be required to negotiate their working day and hours with your supervisor upon commencement and must complete 100 working hours.


Please note that this is an unpaid placement, however, it will provide valuable work experience. The successful student must enrol in FOBE200 or FOBE300 in Session 1, 2017 and must be able to fit this unit as an elective in their program. See the Student Handbook for details on this unit. The unit will give you academic credit for the placement.
