Macquarie Sustainability has an important role to play in promoting sustainable transport options and reducing traffic congestion. In 2017, Macquarie Sustainability will be promoting the Co-Hop program to enable members to quickly find a carpool, public transport and cycle/walk options. We are looking for three enthusiastic and motivated students to work closely with staff from Macquarie Sustainability to assist with the development, coordination and implementation of the Co-Hop campaign.

Tasks will include:

  • Assisting with the development of a marketing campaign to promote Co-Hop on campus including coordination of pop-up stalls across campus
  • Recruiting and managing volunteers
  • Creating connections with staff and student groups to enhance uptake of the initiative
  • Assisting with the implementation of a sustainability competition
  • Co-ordinating a social media campaign

The successful student will:

  • Be in their second or final year of a Marketing, Media or related degree
  • Have a minimum GPA of 2.5
  • Have a working knowledge of marketing principles and be able to identify and create innovative marketing strategies
  • Have good verbal and written communication skills
  • Have highly developed interpersonal skills
  • Have strong project management skills and be highly organised
  • Have a commitment to quality customer service and be able to work independently and as part of a team

The placement will be based on campus and will be offered 1 - 2 days per week over the course of Session 1, 2017. The successful candidates will be required to negotiate their working day and hours with your supervisor upon commencement and must complete 100 working hours.


Please note that these are unpaid placements, however, they will provide valuable work experience. The successful student must also enrol in FOBE200 or FOBE300 in Session 1, 2017 and must be able to fit this unit as an elective in their program. See the  Student Handbook for details on this unit. The unit will give you academic credit for the placement.
