POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Michael Page Vocational Placement Programme aims to provide current university students with an in-depth knowledge of the recruitment industry, latest trends and best practice. In this role, you will shadow recruitment consultants and also gain hands on experience with end-to-end recruitment processes. You will have access to, collaborate with and be trained and supported by our seasoned recruitment consultants. This is a great opportunity for students studying human resources, business, economics and finance who have a passion for recruitment, want to gain an insight into a sales orientated and commercial environment and be a part of a fast paced corporate office.

Specific tasks include observing and shadowing the following:

  • Live candidate calling
  • Assisting with preparation of adverts
  • Reviewing of candidate applications
  • Observing candidate interviews with recruitment consultants
  • Supporting consultants as required

The successful student will:

  • Be able to enrol in FOBE200 or FOBE300 in Session 1, 2017
  • Be studying human resources, business, economics and finance as part of their degree
  • Be passionate about the gaining exposure to the recruitment industry
  • Be results orientated and possess proven leadership skills
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be customer focussed and have excellent customer service delivery skills
  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Have a can-do attitude, demonstrate initiative and be willing to learn

The placements will be based at offices in the Sydney CBD and will be offered over the course of Session 1, 2017. The successful candidates will be required to negotiate their working day and hours with your supervisor upon commencement and must complete 100 working hours.

EXPECTED COMMENCEMENT DATE – WEEK 1 OF SESSION 1

Please note that these are unpaid placements, however, they will provide valuable work experience. The successful students must be able to fit a PACE unit (FOBE200 or FOBE300) as an elective in their program. See the Student Handbook for details on these units. The units will give you academic credit for the placement.
