Scholarship areas include Business, Business Law, Economics, Actuarial Studies and Accounting and Finance.
The University has released 40 new scholarships for applicants wishing to commence PhD study in 2009. These PhD scholarships are for domestic applicants who are not currently enrolled in a PhD at Macquarie. See below for more details.
PhD Scholarships in Business
PhD Scholarships in Business to the value of $20,427 per annum are available for applicants wishing to commence study in 2009. These scholarships are available for domestic applicants who are not currently enrolled in a PhD at Macquarie University.
- Candidates who are awarded one of the PhD scholarships may apply to have their award stipend increased to a total of $32,500, tax exempt.
- Successful applicants may also have access to additional funding (up to $14,000) towards the support of their PhD research project.

Applied Finance PhD scholarships
These scholarships are offered in the Macquarie University Applied Finance Centre to pursue a research program leading to the degree Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). The scholarships have a living allowance of $35,000 per annum with additional funding available for conference travel and thesis production. Information is available from Higher Degree Research Office and the Applied Finance Centre.
University and Commonwealth-funded scholarships in the Faculty of Business and Economics
The University provides several scholarships of interest to research students. Most of the links provide information, application forms and instructions and conditions of the scholarship.
Candidates, including international students, who successfully apply for one of these scholarships and undertake their candidature within the Faculty of Economic and Financial Studies may apply to have their award stipend increased to a total of $32,500, tax exempt.
