Dieu's childhood dream was to travel from her native Vietnam with the intention of studying overseas. This dream became a reality when she was awarded the Macquarie University International Scholarship (MUIS).
Her decision to study at Macquarie, and specifically the Bachelor of Applied Finance was as a result of its stellar reputation. "I like the fact that the Australian style of learning is focused on helping student's enhance their communication skills." Understanding the degree was accredited and recognised by employers internationally was another factor in Dieu's decision.
Now in her 2nd year of the Bachelor of Applied Finance degree, Dieu is thriving as a result of the support she has received from Macquarie. She has received awards for her results in:
- Introductory Statistics
- Macroeconomic Principles
- and Microeconomic Analysis.
Last year she was also rewarded with a University Merit Award for Outstanding Academic Performance.
Dieu is a great example of the hard-working students from all over the world who choose to study at Macquarie and we celebrate her success.
