Corporate Social Responsibility Forum hosted by The Department of Accounting and Corporate Governance

Matt Peacock, Senior ABC investigative journalist spoke at this special event to discuss the history of the recent high profile James Hardie asbestos case. Matt discussed his research and involvement in the case over the 30 year period, and the forum debated his findings and their implications for business in the future.

Speakers included:

  • Matt Peacock, author of the book, ‘Killer Company: James Hardie Exposed’
  • Dr Simon Longstaff, Executive Director, St James Ethics Centre
  • Mr Andrew Stringer, Head of Audit, The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia
  • Professor Philomena Leung, Department Head of Accounting and Corporate Governance, the author of a number of ethics projects including the development of an ethics toolkit for the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC)
