Economics HDR student, Ben Wang is the first Macquarie student to be accepted into the prestigious ISEO Summer Graduate School in Italy.
The ISEO Summer School brings together graduates from some of the world’s leading universities to learn and share knowledge with Nobel Laureates and leading international economists.
Following an assessment of his academic and professional experience together with his research potential, Ben was awarded a scholarship to attend the 2011 program in June.
As one of only 80 attendees, Ben will join fellow PhD students for a week long session of lectures and debates and have the opportunity to learn directly from the founder of his area of research, Nobel Laureate Dale Mortensen.
Supervised by Professor Jeffrey Sheen and Associate Professor Roselyne Joyeux, Ben hopes his experience at ISEO will further strengthen his research on building unemployment into the macroeconomic model.
