Dr Robert Kay is a Co-founder and Executive Director of Incept Labs. He is also an Adjunct Professor with the Department of Accounting and Corporate Governance at Macquarie University. Robert is interested in the interaction between industry and academia and has been an active researcher and analyst looking at issues such as leadership, resilience and innovation.
Robert was formerly the Head of Strategic Innovation at Westpac Banking Corporation; a Senior Lecturer in Information Systems and Organisational development at the University of Technology, Sydney, and a research analyst at Bovis Lend Lease. Over the last couple of years Robert has been commissioned to undertake multiple studies of senior leaders. These include a study on CEO perspectives of Organisational Resilience and a world first comparison between public and private sector leaders in relation to innovation.
Robert is a sought after speaker having recently been a keynote at the Australian Institute of company Directors (AICD) Conference where he received the highest evaluation of any speaker in the last 10 years. His presentations use an innovative combination of video and story telling to illustrate complex ideas in simple and practical ways.
Robert has a first class honours in curriculum development and worldview change, whilst his PhD involved the application of biological systems theory to improving learning and resilience in organisations.
