Aleksandra Pop-Vasileva is a Lecturer in the Department of Accounting and Corporate Governance at Macquarie University. Her teaching experience spans over seven years, and she has taught management accounting across undergraduate and postgraduate units.
Before joining Macquarie University, where she completed her BComm Honours (First Class) degree, Aleksandra lived and worked in Macedonia. While maintaining an active research profile in the areas of management, performance and work-related attitudes through peer-reviewed A ranked publications and conference presentations, Aleksandra is currently undertaking her PhD in the area of Performance Management Systems.

- Thesis title: An analysis of the factors influencing the effectiveness of Performance Management Systems and the impact on employee work-related attitudes
This PhD project is an interdisciplinary study focusing on a broad range of characteristics of Performance Management Systems (PMSs) and the extent to which these characteristics contribute towards an effective PMS. Furthermore, the project examines the relationship between an effective PMS and employee work-related attitudes. As an integral part of any organisation's personnel management, the PMS plays a fundamental role in identifying, evaluating and developing the work performance of employees in accordance with organisational goals and as such it identifies performance requirements, provides relevant feedback and assists with career development. The effectiveness of a PMS is one of the critical PMS outcomes and it is related to the degree to which the system delivers its intended results, i.e. helping organisations to plan, measure and control their performance. The effectiveness of the PMS is considered an important factor for achieving positive work-related attitudes by employees, thus the importance of this study which examines the relationship of an effective PMS with a range of work-related attitudes.
