19th November 2014, InterContinental Sydney, 117 Macquarie St, Sydney NSW, Australia

Topic: Moving the focus from 'Work Health and Safety' to 'Safe Healthy and Productive Work'
The officers' due diligence requirements in Work Health and Safety law recognise the significant, although often hidden, influence that senior managers, accountants and other business decision makers have on the health and safety of people at work. Understanding this influence is challenging. It is made more difficult by the poor quality of WHS performance information captured and communicated in most organisations and the tendency for WHS to operate as an organisational silo. This presentation explores the need to rethink WHS management and performance so practice can shift from funding separate silos of production and WHS to better understanding and resourcing safe, healthy and productive work.
