Leading Research AnalystRose has been working in the field of labour and employment relations since the mid-1980s, mostly in New Zealand. She has undertaken research into or been involved with many of the public policy reforms in the field over that time. While teaching at the Industrial Relations Centre at Victoria University of Wellington, she completed her PhD, looking at labour and employment relations in hotels, cafes and restaurants. Here research interests lie largely in the area of workplace practices and culture, the position of women in the labour market, and workplace health and safety. Over the past five years, Rose and a colleague established Heathrose Research Ltd to undertake social science research in New Zealand workplaces. Rose joined the Workplace Research Centre in March 2013.
