The 2014 Workplace Relations Series features three aspects:

  • an invited paper series,
  • a lecture series,
  • mock hearings
The lectures and mock hearings are taking place in capital cities around Australia. For more information about the events, as well as videos, lecture materials and copies of the invited papers, visit the Fair Work Commission’s website.

The third lecture for 2014 will be a collaboration between the Fair Work Commission and Macquarie University in Sydney.

Professor Alexander Colvin

Alexander Colvin is the Martin F. Scheinman Professor of Conflict Resolution at the ILR School, Cornell University, where he is also Associate Director of the Scheinman Institute on Conflict Resolution and Associate Editor of the Industrial & Labor Relations Review. His research and teaching focuses on employment dispute resolution, with a particular emphasis on procedures in non-union workplaces, and the impact of the legal environment on organisations. His current research projects include an empirical investigation of the outcomes of employment arbitration and a cross-national study of labour and employment law change in the Anglo-American countries.
