Higher Degree Research EXPO 10th - 11th November 2011

The 7th annual Higher Degree Research EXPO, in the Faculty of Business and Economics was held at the Grace Hotel in the CBD on Thursday 10th and Friday 11th of November.

The 2-day event consisted of Master Classes on soft skills and the research intensive conference day.

The EXPO was a collaborative, focused discussion on cutting-edge research.

The day provided excellent opportunities for prospective PhD students in:

  • Accounting and Corporate Governance
  • Applied Finance and Actuarial Studies
  • Marketing and Management
  • Economics
to find out about current research topics in the Faculty. Nine concurrent sessions ran throughout the day, with research candidates giving 15 minute scholarly presentations followed by 5 minutes for questions, comments and discussion.

This theme of the highly successful Value Lecture Series centred around the value of thought leadership and research in general. Our 2011 value lecture speaker was Associate Professor Stefan Trueck.
